I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Hawaii, holding a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. My journey into therapy stems from a deep belief in the interconnectedness of individuals, couples, and families. I've seen firsthand how our attachment patterns and life experiences shape us, and I'm passionate about helping people navigate these complexities.  My systemic approach to therapy, combined with my training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the Gottman Method, allows me to offer a comprehensive and effective path toward healing and growth.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process.  I create a safe and supportive space where you can explore the dynamics within your relationships, understand the influence of your past, and identify patterns that may be holding you back.  I integrate Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, and IFS to help you understand your inner world and your connections with others.  IFS allows us to explore the different "parts" within you with curiosity and compassion, while the Gottman Method provides practical tools for building stronger, more fulfilling relationships. My goal is to empower you to harness your own strengths, develop healthier communication skills, and create the changes you desire.

My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the belief that healing and growth are possible.  I recognize that struggles are often intertwined with family dynamics and attachment experiences.  I help you understand your attachment style, address any past wounds, and develop the emotional regulation skills needed for deeper connection.  I also incorporate solution-focused techniques, emphasizing your existing resources and successes to help you move forward.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I served 20 years on active duty in the military, retiring in 2019. This experience exposed me to the profound impact of culture, life experiences, and trauma on individuals and families, further fueling my passion for helping others.  This passion has also led me to start my own podcast, "Cruisin' with a Therapist," where I explore various mental health topics.

I am committed to providing culturally sensitive and individualized care.  I value compassion, empathy, and authenticity in my work, and I strive to create a warm, approachable environment where you feel comfortable exploring your challenges and working towards your goals. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your journey.
